This is a Florida’s only stem public university. The architecture is aesthetically, beautiful, and an engineering marvel.
if you want to study anything related to stem, this is the place for you small classes every professor has a PhD state of the art. Labs internships from many major corporations where students can later be offered jobs. The campus is expanding and is expected to double in size in the next few years remember I told you first .
A magnificent Santiago Calatrava masterpiece sits centrally as the main campus building. Thematic symmetry is maintained throughout the 170-acre project. "IST", the main building is a photographer's dream. Ambient light is so ample here that it would force even the most amateur of picture taker to take out their phones & start taking pictures. A relatively new STEM University in Florida, the site, the design, planning - all point to a grand education enterprise for the future generations. WiFi is readily available. The dorm buildings claim design and architectural milestones of their own, same goes for the "Student Wellness Center" (gym with swimming pool). The cafeteria has buffet style service for full meals & fast food. A futuristic aura presents itself from the very entrance of this campus. Jogging trails, bike Lanes and acres of green - all make for an inviting scene from the beginning. There are ample parking, with designated areas for the visitors.
More is being added to this campus daily. A casual campus visit makes for a wonderful experience. I'm sure it will claim it's place as a famous landmark and become a familiar name for the pursuers of higher education in America.
A university full of opportunity! I am a junior in the Electrical Engineering program. Due to the small class sizes, I know many professors personally and work with them on projects. Clubs are fun and offer a multitude of leadership positions for those interested. I would not be as successful as I am today without the help of my professors, peers, and the culture Florida Poly thrives in.
I wanted to pursue further education at this school. Located in central Florida as a homeowner I quickly learned that FPU DOES NOT care about their students. My house was ravaged by Hurricane Ian and I had to withdrawal from my classes in order to take up a full time job to pay for the repairs. My classes were covered by financial aid. FPU decided to charge me for my classes due to the withdrawal regardless of the fact that it was prior to the last day to withdrawal. They charged me around $500. Something I couldn't afford with the amount I was making and the repairs I had to pay for. I submitted a request to have the amount removed due to extenuating circumstances and they outright denied it. I had picture evidence of the significant damage to my house as well. They then sent me to collections. Collections for $500. If the school is this greedy for $500 from an aspiring student god forbid you enroll in this school and have some kind of emergency further into your school life here. My advice: STAY AWAY
Absolutely abhorrent experience. The school is crisp and clean archetectually alluding to the sterilized chaos happening behind the scenes. Staff couldn't care less, and getting any kind of follow up phone call or returned message is a nightmare. I drove down in person, got a verbal agreement someone would call me back and still nothing. They won't meet in person even if you're there, web only.
I could not recommend you spend your money elsewhere any. more. vehemently. This is a terrible glimpse into a lazy future of customer service and higher education.
Second. Third. Fourth chances. Every time, disappointed and angry for providing a non-refundable deposit.
Hot mess! They are the newest public university at it shows. The university has a private housing company that provides little support and is never prepared. It’s a beautiful building but underneath the level of incompetence is astounding! Many teachers barely know the content. The clubs and teams are not funded properly. Go literally anywhere else!
Attended the Game Expo. Top notch event. Amazing side talks as well from alumni and staff.
Our son is going to join this coming weekend for the 22/23 academic year and we have been extremely pleased with the the excellent on-boarding program and personal attention provided by the staff to have a most smooth start into the student life. Excellent materials provided. Regular on-boarding trainings. And - on top of that it was is great to receive personal calls by the staff to prospective students and parents "just to make sure that all is ok and that any open questions are answered". This personal touch is another impressive way making Florida Poly stand out.
